25 Top eCommerce Templates for Profitable Online Stores

Did you know?

According to the Statistics report in 2017 eCommerce turnover was around $2.3 trillion in sales. Furthermore, it is expected to hit $4.5 trillion in 2021.

For instance, almost 10% of retail sales in the US alone are made online. And this number is going to grow by nearly 15% each year. That’s why we are not surprised to see you here searching for a decent template for your business. You can’t neglect the global commercial tendencies and surely have your finger in this pie.

How to start an eCommerce store the easiest way?

Actually, there are two ways of launching an online shop. You can hire a professional web developer to do the job for you or choose a ready-made website template and do everything yourself.

Which way is the best for your particular case?

The answer is always “it depends”. Are you ready to invest thousands of bucks into your future store design without any ROI guarantee? Choose a good designer and start working on your project. It’s likely that you’ll get a unique website in the end, but the process will take time, endless negotiations, and a considerable amount of money, of course.

If you are not ready to buy a pig in the poke (most of the entrepreneurs are not, so you are in a good company). Choose the fastest, the simplest, and the most cost-efficient way – buy a website template (for $50 – $100 on average) from a reliable provider. This option fits you even if you know nothing about coding and web design. All complex job is already done instead of you, so you will replace the default logo with your own, tweak the colors, upload product images, descriptions, and so on, and your brand new website will be ready to accept the orders.

We will list major features to consider when choosing a website template to get a modern, attractive, and profitable site in the future.

What features should an eCommerce template have?

The choice of eCommerce templates is really overwhelming. Do you already know which engine is going to power your online store? Magento, PrestaShop, WooCommerce, Shopify, whatever? Not sure which one to select? Take a look at the pie chart below. It demonstrates the popularity of different eCommerce platforms across the entire web. Knowing what others choose is always helpful, isn’t it?

Source: codeinwp.com

But let’s get back to the must-have features of the quality eCommerce template:

  • Responsive, retina-ready layouts. The percentage of mobile shoppers is growing bigger day-by-day, so your store should be optimized for all kinds of contemporary mobile gadgets. The feature not only improves user experience but boosts your SEO.
  • Drag and drop page builder. As you will customize your website yourself, the process should be as intuitive as possible. Different templates use different builders, just look for the one that doesn’t require any technical skills from you.
  • There should be a possibility to change standard options for theme appearance. You will surely want to edit theme look, improve typography, replace the logo, modify navigation, update slider, blog pages, portfolio, and page footer until they inherit your corporate style.

  • The template should offer custom-made post types & formats. This way you will be able to use unique post types for testimonials, team introduction posts, services, and other posts you want to emphasize. Every page of your website can get its individual charm.
  • It’s great when a template has different shortcodes. You can use them for quick embedding media and other content like post output, grids, elements, lists, tabs, video and audio, Google Map, and so on.
  • Custom widgets and theme Customizer make page editing very easy and convenient. It’s really great that you can view all changes in real time with the help of the Preview function.

This list can be continued, but we guess it’s high time to finally study the examples of the best eCommerce templates. View their demos, study documentation, and make your pick.

By the way, all eCommerce templates are gathered in the table below. This should speed up the browsing to those who know exactly what they are looking for or have no time to scroll all the way down to the template they are interested in.

4 More Great Ways to Save Money in 2018

By: Branden Hughes

Check Your Local Craigslist Free Section Daily

Craigslist has an entire section where people can list items that they are giving away for free. You never know whats going to pop up. Whether its a free lawnmower, furniture, a computer, a Grill, or Free Books and Magazines, you can find all sorts of things on Craigslist

Always Ask For Water When Eating at a Restaurant

Obviously the best way to save money would be to stay home and cook your own meals, but when you absolutely can’t resist going to your favorite restaurant any longer, be sure to only ask for ice water with your meal. Its probably healthier and will save you a bit of money on your Bill.

Save Money Using Math!

Whenever you’re out shopping for soap, shampoo, toothpaste etc., don’t let the packaging or presentation fool you. The only way that you can know for sure whether you’re getting a good deal or not is to calculate the Price Per Ounce. Simply Look at the bottle and read how many ounces it contains, then pull out your phone or calculator.

Simply divide the price by the number of ounces, so if you see a 30 ounce bottle of shampoo for $2, you just take the $2 and divide it by 30 which equals out to 0.066666667, which rounds to about 7 cents per ounce. Thats it! This can be applied to many other things too, such as beverages like Juice or Soda Pop. Pretty much anything that lists the product in ounces on the container. Even Toothpaste.

You can even adapt this method to calculate and compare the Price Per Inch of Television sets and Computer Monitors!

Only Play Free PC and Mobile Games

If you’re strapped for cash and love PC Gaming like I do, then great! There are now thousands of PC and Mobile games that follow a model called free to play. Basically the game is completely free to download and play, but has a built-in cash shop where you have the option to buy extra things like cosmetics, item packs, mounts, weapon skins etc.

Obviously if you love PC gaming you will want to support the industry and pay for games that you like, but if you can’t afford it then thats fine too, because paying is completely optional in these games.

6 Reasons Why Being Frugal Is Awesome

By Holly D Johnson

Being frugal rocks so hard that it will give your finances whiplash. I’m not talking about the car accident kind. No, I’m talking about the good kind of whiplash. You know, the kind you get after a night at a Slayer concert – or whoever it is that the kids are listening to these days. If you are thinking about taking the frugality leap for yourself, here are six reasons why being frugal will rock your world.

1) Having Money for Emergencies

Let’s face it, things happen. You may have unexpected car repairs or need a new water heater. Maybe you will require an emergency room visit and instantly hit your insurance deductible for the year. Whatever the emergency may be, being thrifty and living a frugal lifestyle means that you have money saved for it. Being frugal means that, instead of putting the new expense on credit, you can write a check for it. Having money for emergencies brings peace of mind and reduces stress. Knowing that you can take care of any problem that may arise is truly a great feeling.

2) Being Able to Retire Someday

Hopefully, if you are frugal enough over a long period of time, you can retire someday. While your friends may be working well into their 70′s, you may be at home working on your hobbies… or traveling… or sitting on your ass. Who cares? The point is that if you are thrifty and save enough you will likely be able to retire way ahead of your peers. Then, you can truly decide how you want to live your life.

3) Weed out Your Fake Friends

Sure, you can probably find anyone to go to a football game with you or to try out a new nightclub. You can probably talk a casual acquaintance into being your shopping buddy. However, who would want to eat a homemade dinner at your house and play cards? The answer: your real friends. If you begin a frugal lifestyle, you may find that you lose a few friends. I did… and that was OK with me. Basically, if you take materialism and consumption out of the equation, you might find that you have a lot less to talk about with certain people.

4) Buy Less, Waste Less

As a society, we make and consume waaaaaaaay too much crap. Walk into any store, and you may see aisle after aisle of it – toys, gadgets, back scratchers, picture frames, trampolines… you name it. And when you buy all of that crap, you are just encouraging other humans to make more crap. Bring frugal means that you only buy what you really need and want. It may mean buying used items or just buying less. Either way, you are adding fewer items to the huge waste that we humans create each day.

5) Being Frugal Means Fewer Marital Problems

Everyone knows that money problems contribute to an incredible amount of marital problems and divorces. The thing is, when you are smart with your money as a team, you will find a lot less to argue about. If you learn to live within your means and start saving, chances are the disagreements about money will become few and far between. When bills are paid on time and money is in the bank, stress and hostility decrease. When you get on the same financial page as your spouse, you may even find that it doesn’t bother you as much when they leave their pajamas on the floor every day for EIGHT YEARS STRAIGHT. I sure did. (Sorry Honey! Kisses!)

6) Better Sleep

I have to say that I sleep GREAT these days. I think part of it is my new Serta iComfort mattress. Also, I just don’t have a lot to worry about. Sure, I worry about the big things like someone I love getting into an accident, someone close to my dying, etc. But, I definitely don’t worry about money. I sleep great because I know exactly which bills are due and when. Furthermore, I have the money to pay for them… and I have an emergency fund for anything else that comes up! Now THAT, my friends, is relaxation.

Personally, I think that being frugal is some super awesome sauce. Although your friends may see you as a fun-hating cheapskate, they just don’t realize the benefits of being frugal. While everyone else is just running through the motions on the hamster wheel of life, frugal warriors everywhere are taking control of theirs. Cheap brothers and sisters all across the land are paying off debt and refusing to consume so much at such a rapid pace. Being frugal means that instead of worrying over your finances, you actually take action to change them. I have taken action to change my finances for the better. Have you?

Make Smart Decisions About What You Buy

By Chris Vine

I’ve made plenty of mistakes in my life regarding debt. I only wish I could go back in time and redo some of my spending decisions I made when I was younger. Obviously that is impossible, but maybe this post will help younger individuals who are about to go out and do something they might regret later in life.

I remember when I was 26, living in a nice area of San Francisco with three roommates. It was a good fun time in my life and I have several great memories from this period. I was very good with my money overall, but every once in a while something would come over me and I would do something that I would later regret.

When I was younger, I saw this new television at Circuit City (remember them?); I still remember the exact TV model. It was the Hitachi 61SWX10B and the price was $3,500. It was a rear projection television and was quite large; a 61″ unit that had a built in stand.

Of course, I was not going to go out and drop that much money on a television at that point in my life, but when I heard I could go out and get a new credit card with 6 months no interest financing I thought okay I can make this happen. My plan was to just put $500 down and then pay off $500 a month and I would get that TV without paying any interest.

I executed my plan flawlessly and I was the big man in the house; all my roommates loving that TV for all it was worth. Guest would come over and tell me it was the best TV they had ever seen and I ate it up. We watched movies, played video games, sporting events, we all enjoyed it.

About a year later, all of our lives changed and we went separate ways. Then it hit me, I was now stuck moving this massive television and the burden of moving it to my new place was quite a hassle. All my former roommates got to enjoy my big awesome television for free and they simply moved on. I was stuck with a $3,500 bill and now moving into a place that I could barely accommodate a television that size.

As it turned out, over the next couple of year’s plasma televisions started coming out and my once super mac-daddy televisions seemed ancient. Within 4 years of my purchase rear projection TVs were no longer desired at all. I couldn’t even sell it due to its large size, so when I moved I simply posted a free ad on Craigslist. Obviously, I gave it to the first interested party instead of trying deal with something that big and heavy with little to no value.

It would have been totally reasonable for me to just buy a $500 television, which also would have been a nice television, or to look into Craigslist and buy something there for an even better deal. But unfortunately, like most people can probably relate to, I had to get the biggest and best product on the market. Looking back I realize it was a very poor decision on my part.

It was clearly not the end of the world, but being 41 now, if I would have not have bought that $500 television and invested the other $3,000, today the money I spent would be worth more than $20,000 and in another 20 years, it would be close to $200,000.

These are the typical decisions that everyone makes, especially the younger society, not necessarily bad decisions, but definitely irresponsible ones. We all make them, as we don’t actually think about the long term effects of what we buy.

The key is to cut back, save and invest. It might look like you’re not building much over a few months or even a year, but continued savings over a decade or 2 can have dramatic jaw dropping effects. Do you want to give your 20 something self the latest electronics or do you want to give your 40 something self a better, easier life?

The Power of Thrift

By Simon Hill

“Thrift” comes from the verb “to thrive”. To thrive means to flourish, grow vigorously, to gain in wealth or possessions, to progress towards or to realise a goal in spite of or because of circumstances… ” (Mirriam-Webster dictionary). In other words, thrift isn’t so much as cutting down or not spending money. It’s about being careful in your behaviour so you can reach your goals, be happy, successful and prosperous and live your best life without unnecessary financial stress.

The three scarce resources

In life, there are three scarce resources which need thrifty management to achieve your goals, objectives and dreams. And no, money isn’t one of these scarce resources, at least not directly.

Time, Health and Energy

These are the three resources that are finite in this life. You can only use them once. They are non-renewable. So be careful how you spend them!

The thing about time, health and energy is that you don’t know how much of each of these scarce resources you have left to you. It’s impossible to know how long you’ll live, how healthy you’ll be in your later years and how much energy you’ll have. And all of these factors have a direct effect on how much money you’re going to be able to generate during your lifetime.

Money is time

People often say that time is money, but, in reality, the reverse is true. You trade your time, your health and your energy to generate money that many people then squander unnecessarily on things they don’t really need and often don’t even bring them much enjoyment. Every time you make a spending decision, you’re committing yourself to working more days, months and years in a job that perhaps you don’t even like to get your bank balance back to where it was before or to move forward financially.

Selective spending

Given this, when you spend money on non-essentials, make sure that the enjoyment those things bring you more than offsets that extra time that you’ll have to dedicate grinding away at that day job! When you spend money, you’re really spending your finite resources of time, health, and energy which are in diminishing supply. Just because that paycheck comes in at the end of every month doesn’t mean it’s going to last for ever. Jobs come and go, you get old, sick and tired. And there will be a time when you’ll have to live only on what you haven’t spent and have saved up instead of just spending next month’s paycheck. State pensions are unreliable at best and they’re kicking in at an ever more advanced age – 65, 67 years old or even more by the time you get there.

Work ethic

Thrift is closely linked with work ethic. Some historians tell us that Protestants in Northern Europe in the sixteenth century developed an ethic of hard work as benefitting both yourself and society as a whole. The concept of thrift went hand-in-hand with this. After all, if you’re working hard for your money, it makes no sense to squander it. There have been various counter-arguments as to where and when all this really started, but for our purposes it’s unimportant. The concept is still just as valid, wherever it came from.

The mentality of entitlement is almost the exact opposite of thrift. Entitlement is where we assume we deserve things but without having to work too hard to get them. In reality, just because we went to university or did well at school doesn’t mean we’re entitled to a comfortable way of life with all the luxuries and conveniences of the 21st century. You could even say there’s no such thing as rights if you don’t accept the responsibility to work hard to get them. Of course, I’m talking in the sense of material possessions, not clean affordable drinking water or free education to the age of 18 which I regard as basic human rights.

Bad habits

Every time you put a cigarette in your mouth, drink too much, even exercise too strenuously you’re squandering your health. Every time you spend a whole evening watching rubbish on the television or even sleeping too much, you’re wasting time that you could use in a better way. And every time you waste energy on things that don’t bring you real enjoyment, you’re throwing away the chance to use that energy on more important things.

Richard Quest in his financial programme on CNN always finishes with the words, “And whatever you do, make sure it’s profitable.”

Enjoy yourself but be thrifty with your finite resources. Be selective in how you spend them, get the biggest bang for your buck and make them last you as long as possible for the rainy day that’s bound to come along at some time or another.

If you look up the word “thrift” on the Internet, you’ll find that it’s generally related to being extremely careful with money. But thrift is much more than that and that it’s an extremely powerful way of life that you should give serious consideration to.

Kill Bills

By: Tom Justice

Get Rid of Some “Extras”

The key to financial freedom is building wealth. The key to building wealth is eliminating all your extra bills so you have money to save. The average consumer’s credit report carries quite a burden from these bills as well. Let’s start with what hurts the most. Eliminate any habits you currently have. Most habits cost money and if it’s a habit it can’t be healthy for you in the long run anyway. Smoking, drinking, candy, coffee, collecting junk, etc. You will be surprised how much cash you pocket if you just quit 1 or 2 of the above (if any apply of course). By giving up a habit you are not only saving money and maybe even your health, but you are also gaining self-discipline helping you mature financially.

Food: Dine In or Carry Out

Let’s look at the two separately AND together. If you eat out once a week, even at $25 you are spending $100 a month. Pretty simple math. Let’s say you get carry-out (drive-thru) 3 times a week at $5 per visit. This equals $60 a month. These figures are below average, but even so, this is $160 in 1 month that could be used to eliminate some smelly debt. Pack a lunch for work. Try cooking at home. It’s a fraction of the cost, it tastes better than “fast food” and it is usually healthier. If you can’t eliminate eating out then try cutting it in half for starters.

Grocery List (or lack thereof)

Many consumers head to the grocery store with no plan or list. BIG mistake. This is what grocery stores are designed for. Go ahead, walk down each aisle and tempt yourself with row after row, shelf after shelf of junk food, extra stuff that you don’t need. A list could save you 50% alone – that much more to wipe out those irritating loan payments. A grocery list serves two purposes. It saves you quite a bit of money which you notice immediately. Secondly, it allows you to be more prepared for the upcoming week, month or however often you shop. You can make out a daily meal plan ahead of time so you know exactly what you need to purchase and approximately how much cash you will need.

Sell Some Stuff

Everyone has stuff lying around collecting dust. Remember the saying “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”? You could probably knock out a couple of stagnate bills with some of those collectibles sitting in a box in the closet. You would be surprised to know that an object you have absolutely no interest in could sell on an auction site and pay off that hospital bill that’s been chasing you around like a mad hornet.

Cash, Cash, Cash

Only buy with cash. Plastic looks the same when you spend it. Dollar bills disappear and you will feel the impact when you start to get a shortage of it. Start a cash envelope system – at least one for gas, food and clothing. Like any new system, it will take a few times before you get the right amount in the envelopes. You will start to notice a large impact on your budget though and will find it worth while. If you buy something with cash you don’t owe on it. You might think a little longer about it too when you hold on to that $100 bill. If you apply the various techniques and ideas in this article you will start to knock chunks off your overall debt. This will get you closer to achieving financial freedom and your credit report will begin the long awaited healing process. Start today!

One New Year’s Resolution You Don’t Have to Keep to Be a Winner

Making a resolution to improve your finances puts you several steps closer along the road to a better bottom line, based on data from Fidelity Investments’ eighth annual “New Year Financial Resolutions Study.” Looking for a resolution that will pay off and pay dividends? Simply resolving to pay more attention to your finances improves the chances that your financial health will improve.

According to the Fidelity study, 45 percent of individuals who reported making financial resolutions at the start of 2016 were more debt-free at the end, compared with 34 percent of individuals who did not report making any financial resolutions within the past year. In addition, those who made financial resolutions were more likely to say they felt financially secure compared to those who didn’t make resolutions (45 percent vs. 34 percent).

The study also found that the three most popular financial resolutions for 2017 were saving more (50 percent), paying off debts (28 percent), and cutting back on spending (16 percent). Among individuals who went beyond making a resolution and actually followed through on it, 66 percent reported that they were “in a better financial situation.”

The potential for “unexpected expenses,” such as home repairs or medical bills, can derail financial security, but consumer education can help.

“For those whose resolutions fell short in 2016, almost three quarters said they were derailed by unforeseen expenses, so setting aside an emergency fund can create a buffer,” says Ken Hevert, Fidelity’s senior vice president of retirement. Fidelity’s online guide, Three Financial Resources for 2017, can help consumers discover how small changes can add up to improve the family finances.

“Whether it’s a new roof for your home or a medical emergency, the unexpected can throw your finances for a loop,” Hevert explains. An especially smart tip from the guide that anyone can apply: switch to no-fee financial institutions instead of paying $43 in bank and credit card fees, and invest the money instead. After 20 years, with a hypothetical compound annual growth rate of 7 percent, you could be looking at a $22,000 windfall.

5 Ways to Save Money in 2018

By Branden Hughes

1 .  Do Your Own Oil Changes!

As long as you can turn a wrench and have a bit of common sense this is something that just about anyone can do. All you need to do is find out How many quarts of Oil your Vehicle Takes, what kind of oil, and Buy the Correct Oil Filter. A very useful website is https://www.amsoil.com/, this website allows you to look up any vehicle and will tell you exactly how many quarts of oil your specific vehicle takes. Some Mechanics and Dealerships Will Charge you up to $120 just for a simple Oil Change! You can usually do your own oil change for less than $30. Always Remember Safety First! Use extreme caution when working underneath a vehicle and always use jack stands! Make sure to properly Dispose of your used Motor Oil at your nearest collection center. Many local auto parts stores will accept used motor oil free of charge.

2.  Use a Rewards Website like Swagbucks to Earn Cash-back While Shopping

Why not earn cash-back from your favorite stores for shopping that you’re going to do anyway? There are dozens of cash-back websites out there but the one I am recommending is Swagbucks. Now I will admit I am a bit biased, I get a small commission for every person that signs up for Swagbucks, but Unlike other cash back websites that only reward you for shopping, Swagbucks is different. Swagbucks will also reward you for many other activites such as watching video clips, filling out surveys, signing up for email newsletters, playing games, printing coupons, as well as referring other people to sign up.

3.  Don’t Buy Anything Unless its On Sale

Seriously, I personally see no reason to pay full price for things like clothing and electronics. Everything goes on sale sooner or later and there are guaranteed sales at least twice a year for black friday and cyber monday. If you pay attention and look around, there are sales everyday both online and offline. The only exceptions to this rule are dollar stores and thrift shops. One other thing is don’t let the sales work against you, don’t buy something just because its on sale that you wouldn’t have bought otherwise. A good time to buy clothing is during the transition of a new season, when summer comes along stores begin to clearance out all their winter clothes and coats and vice versa. This is the perfect time to buy.

4.  Buy Bar Soap Instead of Liquid Soap

From my experience bar soaps last much, much longer than liquid soaps. I’ve been using bar soap for over a decade now, it smells and cleans just as good, and will also save you money.  There isn’t much to it, Just try it.

5.  Cut Cable Completely

If you’re really serious about saving money then cutting out your cable bill will definitely help you do that. There are many great alternatives, and all of these alternatives combined are probably cheaper than cable now that I think about it. The best alternative in my opinion is to buy a TV Antenna. An antenna doesn’t cost very much and will allow you to receive up to 30 over the air channels completely free of charge depending on where you’re located.

The second best alternative is to sign up for a streaming TV service such as Hulu or Netflix. Hulu and Netflix both cost less than $10 a month and have a huge archive of movies and tv shows to watch any time you want. Hulu and Netflix aren’t just limited to your TV either. You can also stream them to your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer.

My favorite alternative is a tiny credit card sized computer called a Raspberry Pi. This is a tiny little computer with many uses, but my favorite is to hook it up to my TV and use it as a streaming media device. There is a program called Kodi that you can install onto the Raspberry Pi, which will then give you access to hundreds of Video Addons and free TV channels. The raspberry pi is powered by a micro-usb cable just like your android phone or tablet, so it will be very easy on your electric bill even if you leave it running 24/7 like I do.

The raspberry pi computer costs about $40 and there are hundreds of guides and tutorials as well as the Raspberry Pi Foundation website and forums to help you get your Raspberry Pi  up and running.

Another alternative is to just cut TV completely out of your life, but I haven’t done that and I don’t expect anyone else to either, but this is obviously the cheapest option : )
